This special installment of the JCMW Blog offers a reflective look back on 2019 as I experienced it in my life. This is not like my usual educational, informative blogs, but more of an insightful and revealing look at myself, how I changed through the year, and what I was able to manifest into reality. This blog serves as a chapter in my legacy collection, where I am archiving the years of my life, along with my experiences with the various (and amazing) people that I encounter and create with. At its core, this blog is meant to express GRATITUDE and LOVE for all of you in my life.

There is not a time that I present there were I don’t look forward to it, and there is not a time when I don’t feel incredibly uplifted after presenting. I simply love this organization and this group.

Yule is celebrated like most other holidays occuring around the Winter Solstice, where family, tribe, and friends gather to share in feast, fellowship, storytelling, and love. In this time of year people who celebrate Yule come together to welcome the return of the light as the scales once again tip . The Dark half of the year and the Light Half of the year are in perfect balance at this time, so it is that we gather on this, the longest and darkest night of the year, to give thanks, to see the old give way to the new, and to give thanks for all of the abundance of the harvests.

Life is chaotic, and it is harmonious. It is all things. Despite the flavor of life, it is unpredictable, and it cannot really be controlled. It doesn't matter what the intention is, the universe, earth, circumstance all have their own roles to play. It can come in any way, at any time, and ALL we as a people, as humans can do is roll with the punches and accept the changes and shifts as they reveal themselves to us. It could be an outdoor wedding blessed by sun and warmth, OR it can be rainy, wet mess.

It can make people really anxious, and eventually, if not dealt with, it can even turn people toxic. Lots of things can, but in my opinion, a lot of it stems from a lack of self care….”

My clients, my loved ones, my friends, my tribe,.. Without all of you life would be a dull bore, a flavorless fruit, an endless repetition of sunrise to sunset. It is connection with others that I am always grateful for. The relationships that color our lives, and the stories we all create together over time and space. It is an honor to travel with you all, and I raise of glass to many, many, many more years of fellowship to come.
Read MoreWhile working at Trenton psychiatric, I have met all manner of interesting people. Many of the people that reside at the facility, be it long term or short term, often have some incredible skills, expansive minds, and innate creativity, and it’s rather inspiring to spend time with them.
Ne such fella I met there I will dub, The Spiritualist. This man was SO deeply aware of spiritual practices, pagan theologies, and really, considerably high level spiritual practice understandings. He and I would talk at length about astrology, lunar cycles, the pros and cons of organized religion, and a lot about how Paganism fits into the modern world. He was always someone that I was excited to see at the Self Help Center.

In the midst of my double yoga certifications I also began attending Reiki shares, and finding myself in the company of many practitioners. I had been familiar with the word Reiki, but not so much the formal practice, sigils, or the history behind it all. Once I became aware of it all, I found myself intrigued to learn and to practice more.
In short form: Reiki is an energy healing practice where the life force of a person or thing is able to be healed, modified, or shifted to a place of greater love, functionality, and positivity. Reiki does not have to be a touch based practice (the laying of hands) but it also can be an effective way to deliver the healing. It’s origins are japanese, and though such healing practices are ancient, the actual establishment of Reiki as a noted healing modality is still fairly new in the Western World.

Let’s face it, the world is a hectic place; war, strife, pollution.. All those things that bring on panic and anxiety, especially when it is literally crammed down our throats every minute of every day on the news, on social media, in the newspapers, etc. It can be sickening, and we can let this kind of bombardment really drag us down. Or… it doesn’t have to.
Laughter.
The magick cure to even the most profoundly upsetting moments in this life. Laughter, unlike other medications, is FREE and it is INFINITELY available. So try a dose every time you are feeling down.

It’s been just about 5 years that I’ve been working with various special needs communities. I didn’t set out to do this intentionally, it kind of just happened one day, and the fulfillment that it brought me was almost staggering. There were some experiences earlier in my career that would hint at things to come, but those experiences didn’t initially fully blossom, instead they took root, and slowly developed, and as I would realize later, they would set the stage in many ways for my future endeavors.
The Story Of Rick
One day I was walking through New Brunswick, New Jersey doing promotion for my band Amber Blues. While cutting across a Rutgers Campus field I stumbled upon a man sitting on the steps of a building playing a guitar.
Read MoreIn business it is imperative that we weave webs. That we connect the dots between communities, individuals, associates, competitors, friends, and family, and really anyone else that is in our own personal storyline.
It has ALWAYS been my belief that we can absolutely without a doubt discover hidden connections to just about any stranger that you may meet in your journey. It’s like a call back to the old “Degrees Of Kevin Bacon” game, where the idea is to connect any random actor to Kevin Bacon in the least amount of moves possible. Sound familiar? If so, you know what I mean. If not, give it a Google, and there will certainly be a more thorough description of how the game is played. The point of this is this: Be a center point. Be a point where all other stands of the web are strung from and connected to.
